Since 2001, First 5 Shasta's investment in local 0-to-5 services, programs, resources, and activities has grown to approximately $15 million. This investment has been accomplished through the award of funding to county agencies, health, education, and non-profit organizations, grassroots groups and other entities providing services and conducting projects that reach young children, their families, and those working with this important population.
The funding awards that constitute First 5 Shasta's early childhood investment range in amount and contract duration. Each award is responsive to community needs and assists First 5 Shasta in pursuing the Goals and Outcome Objectives outlined in the Strategic Plan 2010-2019.
First 5 Shasta has established competitive funding processes to ensure fair review and award practices are maintained. Sole source awards may be made when only a single organization is available or capable of undertaking a desired project.
It has been our privilege to support the ever increasing resources and supports for families with young children that have become available in our community.
