Susanna Sibilsky

Appointed: January 2008
Susanna graduated from the University of California at Davis with a degree in Nutrition Science. After graduation, she joined the Peace Corps and worked in Port Au Prince, Haiti. While there, she developed Haiti's first community field worker's guide, which included culturally appropriate information on immunization and breastfeeding.
Prior to relocating to Shasta County in 2004, Susanna served as the Program Manager and Director for the National Health Foundation in Los Angeles. While at the NHF, she directed the development, implementation, and bilingual marketing of health programs critical to low income families. In 1996, Susanna received a Special Achievement Award for her participation in the Prenatal and OB Access Project, which helped establish one-stop prenatal clinics for low income women in private hospitals throughout Los Angeles County.
Currently, Susanna is the Program Coordinator for the SMART Business Resource Center. She helped develop the First 5 Shasta funded Employer Outreach Program to assist employers in embracing family-friendly practices and to promote a variety of resources geared toward employees with young children, to include free and low cost health care. Susanna enjoys her participation with this project as it has provided a new partner, "the business community", to assist in increasing working families' access to needed services. |
