Our Focus
Current research in brain development demonstrates
that the emotional, physical, social and intellectual environments surrounding
a child in the early years of life have profound impact on how the brain
is organized. With
this in mind, the Shasta Children and Families First Commission
is dedicated to making a significant and lasting difference in the lives
of young children. To do so, we will direct our focus
to enhancing a community in which parents and caregivers, community
leaders, service providers and other community members promote the well-being
of young children.
Our Vision
All young chldren in Shasta County are safe, healthy, and live in nurturing environments where they play, learn, and grow to reach their potential.
